The Greatest Love

Jesus has the greatest possible love for us. He gave everything he could give.

John 15:13, 14 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. (KJV)

But Jesus also expects us to lay down our life for him, not only when we might be persecuted, as were the early Christians but every day of our life.

Luke 9:23, 24 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. (KJV)

Let us go through each day knowing that Jesus holds the remote control of our life. Jesus will program us to live the life that he wants us to live. If we are to reach our destination, Jesus must be in the driver’s seat. If we truly lay down our life for Jesus Christ each day, he will live in us and through us.

Romans 12:1,2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God –this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is –his good, pleasing and perfect will (NIV)

Heavenly Father, please accept my life this day. Direct my steps as our would walk, purify my conduct, and guard my tongue. Renew my mind that I may be transformed into your likeness. Give me what is good for me and pleasing to you so that you may perfect your will in my life.
